Carnival Procession
The street procession is what makes Portishead Carnival what it is.
The more people in costume or fancy dress the better!
You can enter as an individual or walking group, on horseback, in a wheelbarrow, on a bicycle - anything goes.
Floats and walking entries come from organisations and individuals across the community and each year the entries just get better and better. Every year the huge silver trophies are engraved with more and more winners, all going down in our town’s history. The entries are judged by an independent panel of people from all walks of life in Portishead who always have a very difficult job deciding the winners.
