A Guided Walk to Celebrate World Wetlands Day

Starts: 10:00 On 01 February 2026 | Ends: 12:30 On 01 February 2026

Volunteers from the Friends of Portbury Wharf Nature Reserve will be leading a short guided walk along the coast path from Portishead Marina into the Nature Reserve to celebrate World Wetlands Day. 

Learn about the importance of our saltmarsh and the wildlife which inhabits it, let our ‘Guides in the Hides’ help you identify the wildfowl which visit at this time of year, or follow the Wetlands Trail around the reserve.

Meet by the red sculpture, ‘Ship to Shore’, near the lock gates, Portishead Marina, BS20 7QF, at 10 am. 

Bring binoculars if you have them and wear suitable footwear – the coast path can be wet and muddy!

This is a free event.

Nature Reserve Guided Walk

Civil War in Bristol

Circus Extravaganza

A pop up circus is coming to Portishead! Circus Extravaganza is bringing the circus to you!

Lucas Jet and Jony Juggler plus special guests will be bringing their high energy family circus show to Somerset Hall this February! Expect big thrills and mad skills and lots of audience participation! This is a great opportunity to witness a genuinely top circus show right on your doorstep. The show is as popular with adults as it is with children.

There will still be the free circus workshop before each show and we would love it if you can help us spread the word!

Doors will open 30 minutes before your performance and there will be a free circus workshop up until 5 minutes before the show.

A tuck shop with light refreshments will be available up until showtime.

A circus skills shop will also be available for those wishing to brush up on their plate spinning!
