Remembrance Day Parade and Church Service
Starts: 19:15 On 09 November 2025 | Ends: 11:30 On 09 November 2025 [ Link ]

10:15am - Parade assembles at the High Street
10:45am - The Act of Remembrance will begin
11:00am - Two minutes silence will begin
11:05am - Parade moves off via the High Street
Residents and visitors are welcome to watch the parade as it travels along the High Street
11:30am - Service in St Peter's Church
Please avoid parking in the High Street and all along the parade route.
ROAD CLOSURES will be in place between 9:45am-12:15pm.
Any vehicles not moved before 9:45am will not be permitted legally to move until the roads are re-opened at 12:15pm.
Roads affected will be Portishead High Street between Church Road South and Combe Road, Stoke Road, Church Road South with restricted access to the High Street at Brampton Way and Church Road North. Diversions will be via St Peters Road, Slade Road and Combe Avenue.
We plan to have a vehicle at the rear for two reasons:
To follow the parade at a safe distance, then collect veterans from the saluting dais and take them to the church. Please note, the road will be closed to unauthorised vehicles.
To create a clear end to the parade. In previous years, parents following their children closely has disrupted the flow, preventing children from proudly marching past the dais. Please encourage parents to give the children space to shine. We understand that parents in uniform leading groups will be positioned at the front and back of their divisions.
Thank you for helping make this parade special for everyone.

Starts: 20:00 On 14 November 2025 | Ends: 22:30 On 14 November 2025 [ Link ]

Friday 14th November 2025
Admission £20
We are delighted to welcome multi-award winning Jim Mullen for his second visit to Speakeasy. Godfather of British Jazz and winner of Best Jazz Guitarist, British Jazz Awards 2019, he is one of the most influential and inspiring guitarists in British Jazz.
He carved his place in jazz history with Dick Morrissey, spearheading the British jazz fusion movement of the 1970s when they formed the Morrissey-Mullen Band and recorded seven albums over 15 years.
He has collaborated, recorded, toured and worked alongside such greats as Mose Allison, Jimmy Witherspoon, Jimmy Smith, Terry Callier, Vinegar Joe and Georgie Fame! He recorded with The Average White Band!
He has a distinctive style and, like Wes Montgomery, he picks with his thumb rather than plectrum!
Jim Mullen is an ‘All time hero’ of British jazz and… “is one of the most soulful and virtuoso players this country has ever produced” – Jazzwise.
With his unique ‘vocal’ way of guitar playing, “Jim is melodic and lyrical and not to be missed” – Jazz Sounds.
Show 8.00pm. Doors open 7.00pm. Admission £20. No membership required. Clarence House boasts a full bar and free parking.
