In Avonmouth, just three miles from Portishead, there are a number of companies handling chemicals and dangerous substances. Severnside Sirens are to warn the residents of Avonmouth and neighbouring towns and villages, like Portishead, of any incidents involving these substances. These sirens are tested on the third day of each month at 3pm. You can find out more about the sirens and what to do in an emergency at the link below.

Sonic Alert are rounding off their year with a gig in the drummer's hometown of Portishead. Whilst he is known for his work in promoting the live music scene on the facebook group @BandsOnInPortishead this is the band's first time that he is bringing the band home!
Come and have a sing and dance to all your favourite songs that encapsulate the era defining sounds for our generation... plus some cheesy Christmas Songs! So if you're a fan of having a great time come down to The Poacher and meet your favourite new band.
