In Avonmouth, just three miles from Portishead, there are a number of companies handling chemicals and dangerous substances. Severnside Sirens are to warn the residents of Avonmouth and neighbouring towns and villages, like Portishead, of any incidents involving these substances. These sirens are tested on the third day of each month at 3pm. You can find out more about the sirens and what to do in an emergency at the link below.

ArtPort24 is a volunteer-led festival that connects creativity with community, framing the town as a destination for the arts and as a creative hive. This year's festival has a range of multi-arts creative experiences taking place, with nearly all being entirely free to attend. There will be over 30 bands playing live music at 6 venues across the weekend, over 50 visual artists and makers showcasing their talents at the Beacon Hub and Somerset Hall. The Folk Hall is the venue for a Wildlife Photography Exhibition and also the Photography Competition for "BS20" and "Go Wild". There will also be  Artist -led walks and talks around the Sculpture Trail and the Salt Marshes, Circus Skills, Graffiti,Painting workshops and much more! This inclusive event has something for everybody to enjoy!

This five-day Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) covers relevant health, safety and environmental legislation affecting safe working in the building, construction and civil engineering industries. The SMSTS course in endorsed by Build UK as the standard training for all construction managers.
