PORTISHEAD FIRM SPREADS CHRISTMAS JOY

09 December 2025

Sweets treats given for local families

This Christmas, a local family business is helping to bring a little extra warmth and cheer to the community. FH Halliday & Son, a well-known funeral directors on Portishead High Street, has donated chocolate treats to the town’s foodbank to support families facing challenging times this festive season.

With rising energy costs and grocery prices putting extra pressure on households, many families may find the holidays more difficult than usual. The donation is a small gesture aimed at bringing comfort and a smile to those who need it most.

Helen Lawrence, from FH Halliday & Son, said: “Christmas is a time for kindness and community and we wanted to do something to show our support for families in Portishead. We hope these treats bring a little joy to those using the foodbank and remind them that they are not alone. It’s important for everyone to know that people around them care, especially at this time of year.”

This thoughtful contribution is part of the company’s ongoing commitment to the local community, helping to make the festive season brighter for those who need it most.
