Parish Wharf Leisure Centre to host its first ever 24 hour Fitness Fiesta
Parish Wharf Leisure Centre is gearing up to host its boldest event yet: a high-energy 24-hour Fitness Fiesta that will push participants to their limits while raising funds for two vital charities.
Kicking off at midday on Saturday 25th April and running non-stop until midday on Sunday 26th April, the event will feature a 45-minute fitness class every hour for a full 24 hours. The packed schedule includes everything from kettlebells and group cycling to Zumba, body balance, circuits and yoga, offering something for every fitness level.
Participants can sign up for a single session or stack multiple classes, but for around a dozen determined individuals, the challenge goes much further. They are preparing to take on the ultimate test: completing all 24 classes back-to-back across the full day and night.
Classes are free to book, with a suggested £5 donation per session. For those taking on the full endurance challenge, donations are capped at £40. Many participants are also seeking sponsorship to boost fundraising totals.
All proceeds will support The Fire Fighters Charity and Be More Ben, both of which provide crucial support to individuals and families.
Lizzie Ashley from Parish Wharf Leisure Centre said the idea was driven by both ambition and community pride: “We wanted to create something that showcases the Parish Wharf community, provides a challenge for those who want it and most importantly, to raise money for two brilliant charities. The idea of running classes every hour for 24 hours felt like the perfect challenge and the support we've had from our instructor team has been fab. The response so far from our members has also been incredible, with plenty of classes selling out within just hours of going live. There are still spaces throughout the 24-hour period though, for anyone else who would like to get involved.”
With momentum building and classes already filling fast, Portishead looks set for a fitness-fuelled weekend that won’t sleep - all for a good cause.
Bookings for the event are already open and can be booked via the Places Leisure app, by calling 01275 848494 or popping in to the Leisure Centre.
