Shopping in Portishead
Portishead is justifiably proud of its mix of independent shops which trade alongside a number of national retailers.
The town’s thriving High Street is a must-visit destination for fashion, gifts and home wares, but just as important are the quality, but sensibly priced, butchers, greengrocers, chemist, newsagent, electrical store and pet shop. This hub of the community is also home to a wealth of cafés and bars, not to mention health practitioners and some fantastic hair and beauty salons.
There is limited on-road parking close to many of the shops and ample parking at the retail parks and supermarkets. Additional free car parks can be found in Roath Road and at the Avon Way/West Hill junction.
Harbour Road is another popular shopping haunt and it is where you will find a certified Farmers’ Market on the second Saturday of each month.
Some major names are included among stores at the Wyndham Way Retail Park on one side of the dual carriageway, while on the other, another supermarket provides ample free car parking for shoppers.
Two small rows of shops can be found at The Triangle, West Hill. This includes a supermarket, barbers, hair and beauty salons and various take-a-ways.
