Autumn Leaves and Pumpkins Please
12 October 2025
Pumpkin picking fun was top of the list for the children from The Nursery in Portishead’s Combe Road, when they recently visited Triggols Farm pumpkin patch in Tickenham.
Youngsters donned their wellies and embraced the spirit of autumn as they surrounded themselves with pumpkins, wheelbarrows and coloured leaves in the North Somerset countryside this autumn.
The children from The Nursery in Portishead, were completely in awe at the number of pumpkins they found themselves surrounded by when they made their annual visit to Triggols Farm in Tickenham.
Gaye Holman, who heads community initiatives at The Nursery, said: “When we arrived the children couldn’t believe how many pumpkins they could see. They were also excited at how many different shape, sizes and colours there were.”
The farm visit was one of many organised for the children by The Nursery.
Gaye added: “Activities at The Nursery are always aimed at creating awe and wonder for our children and it’s so exciting for the children to take part in off-site adventures and new experiences. Pumpkin picking is definitely an annual favourite; the children have so much fun.”
After spending hours at the pumpkin patch the children took some of the pumpkins back to nursery to show their friends and explore what was inside.
