Fast Lane For Harvey
31 October 2025
Portishead driver Harvey Lawrence has been back in the fast lane, scooping first place on the race track and winning the 2025 Amateur Championship in the Caterham 310R Championships.
Out of the 20 races the 23-year-old racing driver competed in during the year, he achieved a whopping 18 podiums - 11 first places and seven second.
Harvey, whose day job is driving a hearse for his family’s funeral business - F H Halliday & Son in Portishead High Street - said: “This year I completed my first year in the Caterham 310R Championship, a step up from the previous year, with a quicker car and more competitive drivers. I was classed in the Amateur category with it being my first year, but I was up against more seasoned racing drivers who have been in the class for years.”
Some of the tracks Harvey raced on this year include Silverstone, Zandvoort in Netherlands and Anglesey. He added: “I am absolutely over the moon to have won the championship - this has been by far my best racing achievement to date.”
Harvey joined the Caterham Race Academy in 2022 after previously starting off in karting. The academy offers a race series exclusively for novice drivers; it has a history of long-standing success and is considered one of Europe’s most successful novice driver series.
